Dutch language immersion for children from 4 to 12

The school holidays are the ideal moment for children to participate i relaxing and enjoyable activities, and so that is the period when Panta Rhei and vzw ´de Rand´ organise creative and instructive language apprenticeships for all children from 4 to 12 years of age for whom Dutch is not their native language.

On the basis of the central theme “animals” the children spend a whole week enjoyably making things, playing and learning to use the Dutch language. A varied programme of artistic activities (making things, singing, drama) and movement activities ensure a unique and challenging week. The activities are playful and solidly‐grounded didactically. In the apprenticeship one works towards a show and tell moment where all of the children demonstrate what they have learned and made in the course of the week.

In order to make a different and adapted approach possible, we work in small groups of at most 10 children
