Language immersion

Is Dutch not your children’s mother tongue? Then it’s a good idea to learn and practice Dutch during the holidays.
That’s why we organize fun and educational 'Practice Dutch' camps.
The supervisors encourage the children to speak Dutch while playing.
These are not language lessons.

Language icons

Our community centre offers many activities in the Dutch language. These are ideal for people learning Dutch. Use the explanations linked to the language icons to choose an activity.

What do the language icons mean?

Language icon 1: You don’t understand or speak much Dutch yet.
Language icon 2: You already understand a little Dutch but don’t speak it very well yet.
Language icon 3: You understand quite a lot of Dutch and can say a few things.
Language icon 4: You understand a lot of Dutch and speak it well.

For organizers and facilitators

Are you a volunteer in an association, do you lead a Dutch practice opportunity, or do you work in education? The non-profit organization ‘de Rand’ invites everyone who lives, works, goes to school, and/or spends their free time in the Flemish periphery to learn, practice, and use Dutch in a positive way. Dutch speakers can also contribute. With tips, methodologies, materials, workshops, coaching, and tailor-made programs, the non-profit ‘de Rand’ supports schools, associations, local authorities, and other partners.
